Frankline is a business reporter with the Standard Media Group in Nairobi.
After graduating from Maseno University in western Kenya in 2011 with a degree in journalism and media studies, he worked as a reporter for Business Daily for a year and a half before joining The Standard.
In 2012, he won the Young Journalist of the Year Award from the Kenya Media Council, and in 2015 he was awarded a $15,000 grant from the African Story Challenge to develop a multi-media project on business and technology.
As the David Astor Award winner from Kenya in 2016, he worked in London with The Guardian for six weeks and The Economist for two weeks, and was attached to the Mail & Guardian in Johannesburg for a month.
He is currently completing a Master’s degree in Media Studies at Daystar University, focusing on new models for independent publishing in Kenya.
He is passionate about the profession, and as an avid admirer of long-form, narrative journalism in particular, he is keen to explore new opportunities for its development in the Kenyan context.
