From a humble background and driven by passion, she is a newsroom-taught journalist who believes the best way to tell a good story is to live it.
She started as a freelance correspondent with The New Vision in early 2012 and joined the full-time staff a little over a year later.
For her 2015 David Astor Award programme, she spent three months working at The Independent in London and the Mail & Guardian in Johannesburg.
She holds a Bachelorís degree in Human Resource Management from Makerere University Business School. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Development at University College Dublin as an Irish Aid scholar.
Journalism, she believes, is a calling and not just an occupation. She daily looks forward to growing into a deeply grounded, seasoned journalist who will give African stories a new, objective and unvarnished perspective.
When not in the newsroom or chasing the next story in the field, she enjoys going out with her young son and reading an interesting book.
