Jacqueline is a news and features writer with the Daily Nation in Nairobi.

She has a special interest
in long analytical pieces
with a focus on human interest, and is working towards creating a niche for herself as a long-form writer.

She believes that good journalism takes time, and should remain relevant long after a newspaper’s sell-by date.

For her 2015 David Astor Award programme, she worked at The Guardian and The Observer in London, and City Press in South Africa.

Before joining the Daily Nation in March 2014, she trained for nine months at the Nation Media Group's 'Media Lab'.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

As a Chevening Scholar, she earned an MSc in Practising Sustainable Development from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2017.

An inveterate bookworm, she hopes one day to make enough money to buy all the books she wants.  When not reading or writing, she can be found binge-watching all of Shonda Rhimes' TV creations.
