Marc headed the Arusha bureau of the Daily News until November 2018, covering Arusha,
Kilimanjaro and Manyara regions of northern Tanzania.

As well as writing for the daily and Sunday papers, he managed contributions from local stringers and correspondents.

He joined the Daily News in 2009 as a senior reporter, after working for seven years at The Arusha Times, a regional weekly newspaper.  He also previously contributed to The African, ThisDay, and Destination Tanzania magazine, among other publications.

The first Tanzanian to win the David Astor Journalism Award in 2008, he was attached for 11 weeks to The Sunday Times in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.  While there, he also wrote for The Times and The Sowetan.

His satirical piece ‘Who is our President?’ appeared in The Sowetan online and was later made into a short video.  A joint feature with fellow David Astor Award winner Alex Kiprotich from Kenya was published in The Standard in 2011.

Winner of several awards from the Arusha Press Club and the Lions Club, he loves writing and has to be doing it constantly, both as a journalist and a creative writer in his spare time.
